I would only add that conservatives all too often seem to indeed have values – instead of principles. Values are what you think valuable. Principles are what you die for. It’s the difference between what I prefer (with the tacit admission that other may of course prefer something else) and what I’ll bet my life is true.

But yes, liberals ultimately value only power, as they demonstrate every time they choose a course because it weakens their enemies even if it hurts the people they reputedly motivated to help.
