You may have noticed my schedule has been more haphazard than usual lately. Partly that’s because of the start of the school year, but it’s also due to a more serious situation.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer about four and a half years ago. Between different treatments we were able to keep it at bay for most of that time, but then this summer she began to decline rapidly. A few weeks back we moved her onto hospice care, and just yesterday I got the news that she had peacefully passed away.

I’m still processing this blow and I don’t think I’ll really have a clear grasp on it until after all the services and so on are over. So, I don’t expect to be posting anything for the next week or so.
